Portraits of the Ervin Boys

In case you haven't noticed, the name "Tasia Lee" appears on the precious photo I'm using our background for the blog. I've known Tasia since my early days at Texas A&M and she and her husband have a son who is a few weeks younger than Robert. On super bowl Sunday she snapped these amazing pictures and had them processed. She is so talented!

As an update - Robert is walking now! If I can figure out how to take, save, and upload a video onto this blog, we captured his very first steps on video. We've had this video camera laying in their room for months and it certainly came in handy!

I can't believe how quickly these boys are growing up! I had a conference in D.C. last week and have been insanely busy this week with a tax compliance project. Robert took his first few steps 2 weekends ago, but it wasn't until Sunday that he actually started walking all on his own. Now, Patrick says he's just walking around the house all the time. Amazing what one week can do.

Anyways, I hope everyone has a fabulous 4th of July!

The Ocean!!!....oh, and some updates since we have a 2nd child now

I cannot believe it's been OVER ONE YEAR since I last updated this blog. To the 3 followers who signed up for email alerts: I apologize.

Brief update: We have a second son named Robert now. He's just over a year old and is a delight! He and Thomas are learning to play better together with every passing day and it is too cute to watch! This weekend we watched Thomas as he patiently taught Robert how to say "WOW". Robert's response to everything is now "WOW", Daa-DEE, Ma.....Ma, E-I-E-I-ooooo, or BA! We're working on expanding his extensive vocabulary with Thomas's help of course. Our next milestone will be an un-aided step or two. Little Robert is so dang close!

A few weekends ago we snuck away from the hustle and bustle for a short and sweet beach trip. The boys absolutely loved it! Mare-Mare and Poppy came along and everyone had so much fun. I can't wait for a repeat. To have the opportunity to take the boys to a beach I grew up on was amazing.

Robert and Thomas cried every time we tried to take them out of the water. We are so lucky and thankful for their enthusiatic response to the ocean.

Anyways, I'll try and work backwards with the updates, but as you can see, life is beautiful....and VERY exciting for the Ervin Family.

The Zoo! - March 23rd

Don & Jancy also went with Thomas & Patrick to visit the zoo last week. They bought him the super cute zoo hat - perfect for the summer sunshine coming up!

Gammy & Grandpa came for a visit and took Thomas & Daddy for a ride on the train - he LOVED it!

Who is this child and where did my baby go? Thomas has grown up SO fast! With it being busy season in the tax accounting world I feel like he got way big overnight and I completely missed it! Good thing he hasn't figured out how to crawl out of the crib yet... he's certainly big enough!

This is the outfit his fairy god-mother got him for his birthday. We did a trial-run on Wednesday, January 20, before his big bday party in Brenham to test it out. He loved it!

These are just a few examples of pictures that didn't make the cut for the 2009 Ervin Family Christmas Card.... we ultimately ended up just using a picture of Thomas from Babies R' Us... we'll be more on top of this next year! Especially with TWO little boys!
